Giving Tree at McMahon’s Rockport Grill

McMahon’s Rockport Grill is home to a giving tree for Five Town Communities That Care. There are wish list items of all levels on the tree, from $10 to $1000. Some sample items include stamps (to return program registration verifications), sponsorship of the STAR program bus, dinner for a Guiding Good Choices workshop, or a day of tutoring for the Math Mentors program. The giving tree is a quick and easy way to support local programs that promote healthy youth development. Just ask the McMahon’s staff for details.

Guiding Good Choices Workshop Begins!

Guiding Good Choices(GGC), a five-part workshop series for parents of children aged 9-14 will once again be offered to the community in January.  There are three locations to choose from, which meet on different nights of the week:

Tuesday  nights at Hope Elementary School beginning on January 8th
Wednesday nights at the United Christian Church in Lincolnville beginning on January 9th
Thursday nights at Camden Hills Regional High School in Rockport beginning on January 3rd.

Sessions begin at 5PM with dinner and go until 7:30PM; childcare is also offered onsite.  There is no cost for participants for the program, the meal, or for childcare.  For more information about the GGC program visit our GGC Program Page, or contact  Amy Power by phoning 236-9800 or by emailing ggc@fivetowns.org.

STAR Program Cycle Begins!

The latest cycle of the STAR after-school program will begin on January 14!  Registration packets should be arriving in mailboxes soon.  If you don’t receive one, you can download the registration form or find more information on the STAR program homepage.

New Year’s Eve Dance

Five Town Communities That Care will host a New Year’s Eve Dance on December 31, 2007 at the McMahon’s Knox Grill at the Knox Mill in Camden.

The night begins at 6PM with dinner and dancing to the popular band “"Big Chief." There will be a silent auction/raffle during the evening and a midnight champagne toast. A cash bar will be available.

There is no cover charge, but donations will be gratefully accepted at the door.  Proceeds will benefit Five Town Communities That Care.

Overnight Accomodations available at Hawthorn Inn. Children’s New Year’s Sleepover program available at Penobscot Bay YMCA
