CTC Director Presents at National Leadership Forum

Dalene Dutton, Executive Director of Five Town Communities That Care, spent the week of February 8, 2009 at the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America’s (CADCA) 19th Annual National Leadership Forum.

Ms. Dutton attended the National Center for Substance Abuse Prevention’s Community Prevention day on Monday, and CADCA’s Capital Hill Day on Tuesday—along with approximately 2000 other substance abuse prevention professionals from across the United States.

On Wednesday Ms. Dutton co-facilitated a workshop on the use of data in community prevention outreach efforts. The presentation highlighted many of the successes realized in the Five Town Community’s youth substance abuse prevention efforts and was attended by approximately 90 people.

The forum wrapped up on Thursday with additional presentations and workshops. Workshop tracks ranged from how to identify funding for prevention efforts to how to implement evident-based approaches to curb underage drinking.
