Tug Kellough Takes Over STAR Helm

Five Town Communities That Care is sad to announce that current STAR Program Coordinator Vicki Hamlin will be moving on to other pursuits, but is pleased that current STAR staff member Tug Kellough has agreed to serve as interim program director.

Tug brings a wealth of experience to Five Town Communities That Care.   In addition to being on staff with the STAR program for the last two cycles, he has worked with the Connections program and as a middle school educator. Additionally he has worked with the CHRHS Zenith alternative education program to help set up protocols and curriculum with an emphasis on bringing the community back into the schools.

Five Town Communities That Care will begin the hiring process for the new permanent STAR Program Coordinator this week.  Interested applicants are encouraged to apply by submitting a letter of interest and completed job application to Five Town Communities That Care, PO Box 1135, Rockport, ME 04856.  Applications can be picked up at the CTC offices at 219 Meadow Street in Rockport, or downloaded from the CTC website at www.fivetownctc.org/category/jobs.  Applications will be accepted until October 21, 2009.

The mission of Five Town Communities That Care is to promote healthy youth development and to prevent problem adolescent behaviors such as substance abuse, suicide, violence, delinquency, school drop-out, and teen pregnancy in the five town community of Appleton, Camden, Lincolnville, Hope, and Rockport.  Five Town Communities That Care also seeks to foster increased collaboration and cooperation in the community in order to best serve the needs of its youth.
