Marijuana Use Down 66% Since We Began Programming in 2004!
Did you know that only 1/3 as many kids in the 8th grade in our community are reporting having used marijuana since we began our programming in 2004? This is especially important since potency rates for pot have risen markedly…the average potency (THC content) of marijuana seizures in the US increased by 23% between 2004 and 2007. (It is up 151% since 1983!) This increased potency is what is believed to have led to a marked increase in the number of individuals displaying symptoms of addiction to marijuana. There is a great publication available from the Office of National Drug Control Policy called the Marijuana Sourcebook…you can download it and learn lots about the problem in the U.S.!
