E.D. Position Opening at Greater Old Town CTC!

Greater Old Town Communities That Care (GOT CTC) seeks a highly-motivated, resourceful and communicative Executive Director (ED) to (1) lead us in building on the successes of our documented, evidence-based youth substance abuse prevention programs; and (2) simultaneously assume the duties of a federally-funded Drug Free Communities (DFC) Mentoring grant position designed to ready us over the next 18 months for a successful 2012 DFC grant application.

Reporting to the board of directors, our new ED will provide executive leadership to GOT CTC, manage its day-to-day affairs and allocate 50% of her/his time to the duties of the DFC Mentoring grant coordinator, collaborating closely with a sister organization to learn the CTC method, engage in wide-ranging community outreach, education and alliance-building, collection and analysis of data and management of an expanded community prevention plan.

GOT CTC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Old Town, Maine, incorporated in 2007 and governed by an 8-person board of directors.  In addition to an ED, GOT CTC employs staff consisting of a part-time coordinator for our core programs: Life Skills Training (middle school level) and Tutoring (individualized, middle school level)

Our new ED will assume leadership during a period of potentially dramatic growth at an inflection point in GOT CTC’s future.  Priorities for the next 18 months include:

*Strengthen our near-term ability to maintain and enhance our programs into the 2011-2012 academic year with the fidelity required to produce positive results for youth.

*Foster continued development of our board and organizational infrastructure.

*Take full advantage of our DFC Mentoring grant opportunities.

*Forge a strategic direction for our longer-term effectiveness and sustainability.

*Significantly enhance our fundraising capabilities – particularly through grantwriting – including, but not limited to, a successful March 2012 DFC grant application.

Required:  Bachelor’s degree.

Preferred: 3-5 years’ experience in nonprofit leadership.

This is a full-time, salaried position with occasional evenings and weekends required.  Salary range is $40,000-$45,000 with some benefits, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

To apply and receive a fuller job description, send a letter of intent and resume to David Walker, 156 Oak Street, Old Town, Maine 04468.  Resumes will be considered until the position is filled.  GOT CTC is an equal opportunity employer.
