BBQ Kings and Queen of the 2011 Harvest Hootenanny

Five Town Communities That Care is proud to announce the winners of the 2011 Harvest Hootenanny BBQ Contest.  Fifty Hootenanny participants had a chance to sample a bit of each contestant’s savory delights and then voted for their favorite.  The first place ($100) winner was Colin Pershouse of Portland with his Kansas City BBQ Chicken.  Second place and $50 went to Lisa Dresser of Hope, who prepared her Stampede Ribs along with some really tasty beans. Third place and $25 was scooped up by Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber Director, Dan Bookham, who prepared Anglo-Indian Chicken.

A special thank-you goes out to Kim Graffam at Graffam Bros. Seafood for supplying coleslaw to go along with the BBQ!

Lisa Dresser, Ken Gardiner, Dan Bookham, and Colin Pershouse get ready for the BBQ contest.

If you missed your opportunity to compete this year, be sure to watch for the entry forms for next year’s contest!
